With a strong order book and pipeline of work and with controlled and strategically aligned growth expected over the next few years, we are looking for a strong commercial leader, to support this growth.
Main Focus of the Role
- Reporting to the Group Commercial Director, you will be accountable for delivering a portfolio of projects, maximising performance across our fully integrated, in house direct delivery model.
- Leading, managing and supporting project commercial teams, with a clear focus on commercial and contractual risk and opportunity, driving profitability in projects.
- Working closely with your project teams, driving and challenging cost forecast and value reporting, you will know the detail. However, you will equally provide your project commercial teams with absolute clarity of what’s expected and empower and develop them to deliver against the plan – devoting time to mentoring, coaching and developing talent to drive commercial performance.
- With a key focus on the delivery of client commitments, whilst maximizing value, you will proactively develop constructive and collaborative relationships with clients and consultants.
- As a key part of the leadership team, this role will contribute to the implementation of the overall business strategy, ensuring our company’s value proposition is clearly articulated and understood, enhancing McGee’s reputation at all stages of the process.

- A “sleeves rolled up” project focussed approach.
- Experience of the direct delivery model is essential – you will have a clear understanding of the importance of understanding and managing cost and value from first principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to provide commercially focused pragmatic solutions
- Skilled negotiator, able to manage and lead a negotiating team in relation to complex projects.
- Excellent people management skills that can get the best out of individuals and teams, – you will be passionate about developing, mentoring and supporting individuals to grow and excel within the commercial function.
- Ambitious to progress, grow and develop the role within an expanding business.
