Triple RoSPA Award success for McGee!

McGee has been awarded three prestigious awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in recognition of its practices and achievements in ensuring its colleagues, clients, and the general public get home safely at the end of the working day.

McGee has been awarded the Fleet Safety Technology Trophy, Occupational Health and Safety Gold Award, and the Gold Fleet Safety Award for health and safety practices in the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards – the longest-running industry awards scheme in the UK.

McGee was presented with the awards during a special ceremony at ExCeL, London on June 18th 2019.

The awards have been achieved during a special year for McGee as the business celebrates its 60th anniversary.

The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

John McGee, Director, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted with our latest award wins from RoSPA.

“For the fourth consecutive year, we have been awarded the top Gold Award. This industry recognition acknowledges our continued commitment to Occupational Health and Safety.

“To be selected for the Fleet Safety Technology Trophy for the best performance demonstrated as a Fleet Safety Gold Award winner is also particularly pleasing.  These prestigious awards are a reflection of our continual investment in driver training and using technology to improve safety and performance to deliver a best in class fleet.

All three awards are a testimony to our highly dedicated and passionate workforce who not only maintains current standards but stop at nothing to keep improving Health and Safety within our business.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said:

“The RoSPA Awards have become the key fixture in the health and safety calendar with new sponsors and new awards this year including the Leisure Safety Awards, the Safe@Work Safe@Home Award and the Inspiration Awards. Highly-respected, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, RoSPA award winners benefit from the wide-ranging rewards of improved sector reputation.”

The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.

Competitive awards go to the best entries in 24 industry sectors including construction, healthcare, transport and logistics, engineering, manufacturing, and education.

There are specialist awards for health at work, environmental management and fleet safety, and excellence trophies for the best international, new entry, workforce involvement and organisation operating or based in Scotland. RoSPA’s top accolade is the Sir George Earle Trophy.

The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are open to organisations of all sizes from across the wide spectrum of industries, all over the world. Judges consider entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. The awards are now in its 63rd Year.

Headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards 2019 is NEBOSH – the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health – for the 14th consecutive year.
