McGee, a specialist engineering contractor, announce a planned leadership transition as part of its long-term succession planning.
As of the 20th April 2026, Bernard O’Reilly has been appointed as Managing Director of McGee. The appointment couples with the announcement of Michael Collins as Commercial Director, as Paul Maguire steps into a Non-Executive Director position.
Bernard O’Reilly Steps into Managing Director Position
Following a constructive and carefully managed succession process, Seb Fossey will step down from his role as Group Managing Director and will leave the business on 31 October 2026, after nearly a decade of leading McGee. Seb will remain available to support the business and ensure a smooth transition.
Bernard brings extensive delivery experience, deep knowledge of the organisation and its people, and a strong understanding of McGee’s projects and client relationships. This makes him exceptionally well positioned to lead the company into its next phase.
Under Seb’s leadership, McGee has undergone significant transformation. The business has evolved from a demolition and groundwork subcontractor into a specialist engineering contractor offering a broad range of integrated services.
The company will continue to focus on technical excellence, disciplined delivery, and operating in sectors and projects where its capabilities deliver the greatest value.
Bernard will build on the platform Seb has established, with a focus on continuing to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for clients and partners, while supporting the company’s employee-owners.
Michael Collins Announced as Commercial Director
Michael Collins has been appointed as Commercial Director, leading the team in high value outcomes for clients across the capital.
Michael brings 35 years of industry experience and an extensive track record delivering successful commercial projects in London and the surrounding areas.
Leading high-profile projects including the £2.5 billion HS2 Align JV at Sir Robert McAlpine, Michael’s infrastructure experience and building experience is invaluable as McGee embark on an expanded scope of works across London.
McGee Appoints Paul Maguire as Non-Executive Director
Paul Maguire has become Non-Executive Director for the business, transitioning from his former position in September of 2025.
Building on his six-year tenure as Commercial Director in the position, Paul’s vast experience and industry relationships are invaluable in providing client-led solutions.
