Excellence in Health & Safety recognised by the CHSG

Less than seven days after receiving the NFDC’s Demolition Innovation Award, we are proud to announce that last night McGee received the Beaumont Safety Trophy ‘Highly Commended’ Award at the Construction Health and Safety Group (CHSG) Annual Dinner and Awards.

Taking place at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in London, the CHSG Annual Dinner and Awards recognise and acknowledge outstanding commitment to health and safety. Individuals and companies who have made a real difference to health and safety in the construction industry were honoured at this prestigious event. The event has been a feature in the CHSG’s calendar since 1959 and is built around informality, speeches and presentations.

The Beaumont Safety Trophy is awarded annually to an individual or company for the best device or method for preventing accidents in the Construction Industry.

McGee received the Beaumont Trophy ‘Highly Commended’ Award for pioneering the ‘360° Mobile Visual Noise Indicator’. Using the skills and expertise of our in-house Research and Development team, headed up by Will Strang – along with our development partner – the invention helps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our neighbours and employees. It’s a unique innovation that has the potential to be groundbreaking, and it’s a tremendous honour to be recognised for our efforts in bringing innovative solutions to the construction industry.

John Hennessy, Director – Head of Health, Safety and Environmental Services, said: “We were delighted to hear of our shortlisting for the Beaumont Safety Trophy earlier this month and it was fantastic to walk away with a ‘Highly Commended’ Award in recognition of our efforts. I would like to congratulate Artel Scaffolding for taking home the Beaumont Trophy for their SafeTime® system.”
