Good Causes

One of the greatest rewards of our success is that we are able to support many worthy causes.  Over the years we have shown support for numerous charities – local and national, big and small.

McGee employees are not afraid to challenge themselves to achieve incredible things.  We have had runners in the British 10k, a team of cyclists in the London to Brighton challenge, and a team of over 20 employees bravely abseiled the ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower (the UK’s tallest sculpture!) at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

We’re well known for getting our pink high-vis on, holding cake sales and decorating our site offices every October to support Breast Cancer Now’s annual “wear it pink” campaign.  Over the past five years, we are proud to have supported the campaign which has seen us raise in excess of £20,000 which has gone directly to support vital breast cancer research.  It’s one of our charity engagement highlights of the year – and an event everyone looks forward to as it is a cause close to the hearts of many.

Some of our charity partners look to us to help in other ways.  We have a well-established partnership with Dallaglio RugbyWorks who we support through the provision of employability days for their young people.  We thoroughly enjoy talking to them about the varied career opportunities available within this exciting industry.

Charity of the Year 2019

McGee is delighted to announce the Stroke Association – the UK’s leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke – has been chosen as its Charity of the Year 2019 in the year McGee is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

The Stroke Association is a charity particularly close to the hearts of the McGee brothers, Brian, Michael, and John. Their Father and company Founder, Tom McGee, sadly passed away as a result of a stroke in 1998.

Every year, McGee supports a different charity, helping them to raise money for a fantastic cause through a variety of employee initiatives and fundraising events.
