McGee is delighted to have made it through to the final stage in the Brake Fleet Safety Awards 2017.
McGee’s shortlisting in the ‘Fleet Safety Innovation’ category comes as a result of employing a technology-based solution and a military style logistics plan in delivering London’s deepest hotel basement for a new 350-room hotel in the heart of London’s Leicester Square.
Whilst McGee is no stranger to delivering high profile inner-city excavations of this magnitude, they were required to handle 180,000 tonnes of earth – safely, efficiently and diligently – in one of the most congested and hard to access sites in the capital.
The road safety charity received a record number of first-time entries this year and now more than 70 organisations are in with a chance of winning one of 15 prestigious awards.
The annual event, sponsored by ARI and ProVision, recognises the achievements of fleet operators and suppliers who are working hard to reduce road crashes involving at-work drivers.
Katie Shephard, Development Director, at Brake, says:
“We’ve been incredibly impressed by McGee and their entry into our Fleet Safety Awards. It is fantastic that they are making a real effort to end the needless crashes on our roads as a result of at-work drivers. Our judges now have the difficult task of choosing the winners and we wish McGee the best of luck and look forward to seeing them all at our awards dinner.”
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Thursday 28 September 2017.
