McGee

Remediation of Contaminated Sites

McGee uses a wide range of remediation techniques, enabling the re-development of contaminated land in London and around the UK.

Remediation strategies are developed between our in-house pre-construction team and specialist consultants, enabling a development plan to be established. The works focus on reducing contamination in soils (usually hydrocarbon concentrations) to site specific remediation criteria, sometimes allowing the materials to be recycled as back fill and used as an alternative to landfill. This remediation is carried out in line with the development plan, with continuous monitoring of atmospheric emissions, noise and odour.

We can organise turnkey solutions or work with geoscience specialists appointed by the client to minimise the environmental impact of these works. Detailed records of health, safety and environmental conditions are maintained.

We offer a wide range of technologies including; thermal desorption, bio-remediation (window turning and ex-situ static methods), soil vapour extraction, air sparging, soil washing and stabilisation solidification.

Our employees are appropriately qualified and benefit from ongoing training programmes. We are fully licensed to transport waste materials.
